Mogging
what it means
A comparison, not an action — you mog someone by existing next to them. Usually used as a joke about photos where one person overshadows another.
Visibly outclassing someone in attractiveness simply by standing near them.
the origin story
From looksmaxxing forums, shortened from "AMOG" (alpha male of the group), a term from 2000s pickup-artist communities.
The TikTok version is mostly comedic, applied to unflattering group photos and celebrity height differences. The underlying framing — ranking people by appearance — is why the term remains uncomfortable to some despite the joking tone.
